Treatment of acne scars, dilated skin pores, wrinkles and skin rejuvenation of the face, eyelid, neck and chest using the eMatrix technology
What is eMatrix and why are we using it at our Montreal Clinic?
EMatrix is an innovative medical device using fractional radiofrequency in a non-invasive manner in order to stimulate skin repair. Patients looking for acne scars, dilated pores or skin rejuvenation treatments will be pleased with results and our expertise with the eMatrix technology.
Who can be treated with eMatrix? What can we treat with eMatrix?
EMatrix is a technology that has shown its safety in all skin types including sensitive fair skin as well as dark or black skin. EMatrix stimulate skin repair and improves overall skin texture and glow. Skin pores become tighter and the skin texture becomes firmer and smoother. Acne scars improve significantly as well after eMatrix. Areas of the body most suitable to eMatrix are the face, eyelids, neck, chest and the back of the hands.
What’s an eMatrix treatment like at our Montreal clinic? Is it painful? Are there any side effects?
A treatment session using eMatrix lasts 15 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the treatment areas. The treatment requires no numbing cream or pain killers. While under treatment, patients experience a mild and short lasting burning and tingling sensation. After the treatment, the effect is similar to a mild to moderate sunburn that subsides within the following 4-12 hours. The skin appears red, mildly swollen and dryer to touch. Normal skin care and make-up can be resumed the following day.

How many treatment sessions are required? How fast will the improvement become visible?
Depending on the severity of the scars, wrinkles or textural changes, 3 to 6 sessions might be required. The regular interval between sessions is 7 to 14 days. The improvement of the skin appears progressively within 12 weeks following the treatment. However, most patient can observe significant visible improvement even at 7 to 10 days after the treatment.

How long will the improvement last? Do treatments have to be repeated over time for maintenance?
The reparative benefits of eMatrix are considered permanent and long lasting. Therefore, patients treating acne scars will not require to repeat treatments over time. Patients treating photo ageing and wrinkles will also benefit from long lasting rejuvenation but may consider occasional touch up sessions for continued prevention.
Can eMatrix be combined with other treatments such as filler injections and Botox?
At MédIME, we regularly combine eMatrix treatment with injections of Botox and hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm and other laser modalities in order to provide our patient a natural and optimal global result.
